Room Lighting

One of the biggest advantages to a home theater room is the advantage of light control. Most home theaters have very little light leakage, and sometimes no windows at all. If light control is necessary, motorized shutters or blackout shades can be installed for perfect light control.

Controlled ambiance has a profound impact on the performance of your projector and the quality of your screen's picture that will wow your audience. Technology in the projector, custom floor lighting, and dimmable lighting systems can help perfect the movie-going experience.

Some Home Theater's have lighting control systems installed in the wall, for single button control if they do not have an all inclusive control panel already. Even further, you can integrate that lighting system so your lights fade in and out automatically. This is helpful during intermissions, can accent the room nicely, and give it an authentic feeling.

Sound

Cell phone to your left. Baby to your right. Chatty teenagers behind you.

Now that you have your own theater, excessive noise is a thing of the past. You can have your home theater sound-proofed to keep the movie audio in and the extra noise out.

You can also install some of the most impressive sound equipment available, including multiple amplifiers, subwoofers, and surround sound speakers. A dedicated room means not having to worry about extra activity or traffic, so large speakers and sub woofers are available. They can be hidden in "false walls" behind transparent cloth, set in a decorative A/V cabinet, or built into the floor to save space for your seating.

Before making a final decision, consult sound professionals when choosing the right speakers, their position, and the control in your room. It is likely that room acoustics were already taken into consideration during construction so establishing the right sound will enhance your theater experience.

Much like the screen, optimizing sound is a main priority in imitating the theater setting. The bigger the sound, the better.

Furniture

After you decide on the projector, screen and sound, it is time to consider the furniture and its arrangement. Choose from seating, such as reclining or authentic theater seats to extra equipment storage, such as dedicated cabinets or hidden closets. When arranging everything, be careful not to obstruct your view, to maintain easy access for guests entering and exiting, and especially to optimize comfort.

It should all be specifically designed to meet your preferences. It's your theater; you can design it any way you want. Fill the room with seats and surround them with speakers, create a room with a theme, or imitate a real theater set-up by installing a ticket counter and a popcorn cart. It's up to you.

Your Home Theater is going to bring the cinema home. You have a variety of choices, but the main objective here is combining authenticity and cinematic fun with unbeatable convenience.
