Frequently Asked Questions

Screen/Projector

Screens vary in size, beginning at 70" diagonally. Consider the amount of space you are willing to forego and the accessories you'll add like seating, speakers, and equipment storage. If space is limited, install a rollup or retractable screen. This will save room and maintain the setting. Drop down screens require special construction considerations and installation. Visit www.cedia.net for more information.

Make sure your screen isn't subject to a flood of light. With darker space, your image quality improves. To accommodate, the arrangement of your room may change.

In a room with limited traffic and use, the HD1000U or HD4000U are very appropriate, especially if budget and versatility are a priority. But, if bringing the state-of-the-art theater experience home is the priority, the HC3000U home projector is even better.

A home theater video projectorneeds to sit at a relative distance (throw distance) from the screen to be able to project the desired screen size. For example, a 106" screen needs a 12-foot projection distance. To calculate your living room throw distance, download our Projector Throw Distance Calculator.

You can use the HC3000U, HD1000U or HD4000U as a portable tabletop device, on a shelf, mounted on a wall or ceiling using optional mounting brackets, or installed as a retractable ceiling projector. For some home projector installations you may need to employ the services of a professional. For more information , visit www.cedia.net.
